All-Purpose Windows and
DoorsŪ began in 1982 when
All-Purpose’s founder and
current President, Mike
King, began selling and
installing storm windows.
Developing key relationships
with suppliers and hard work
and determination resulted
in the company employing six
by the end of 1982. By this
time All-Purpose had
innovated non-destructive
methods for replacing
complete windows and really
got the retro-fit market off
the ground in Salt Lake
City. Four months later
All-Purpose moved to its
first State Street location.
In 1985 All-Purpose ventured
into the new construction
business as a supplier to
contractors, and in 1986
moved to its current State
Street location.
All-Purpose’s reputation for
integrity, quality and
customer service soon
created a following in Salt
Lake. In coalition with
AMSCO Windows, All-Purpose
was instrumental in changing
the Salt Lake market from
aluminum to vinyl windows
and patio doors, a feat it
duplicated when it entered
the Albuquerque market in
1996 and the St. George
market in 1997.
